Welcome to our quarter 3 Newsletter. Someone once said, “you are kidding yourself if you think your life is the same as it was pre-COVID and lockdown”, and I think the same goes for business.
There has been a definite shift within the industry and the effect it has on sales, budgets for projects and internal reflection. I know we all feel it. Decisions must be thought and made about more carefully and avoid rushing towards quick fixes.
Perhaps on the positive side to it all, is that the time we should have taken to assess our businesses has been forced upon us, and we have the opportunity to take the time to sit, reflect and take action for the good of the business.
In this issue we take a look at our social responsibility contributions, our project we are most proud of, where Elite Fire Protection is going, our top blog posts for the quarter, and positions still up for hire.
We hope you enjoy reading up on the latest and pop us an email for compliments or comments.
We’re in Business to do Good!
Elite Fire Protection has made a concerted effort to include charitable events as part of our company objectives this year. It has and always will be very close to my heart. Can we really sit and not do anything for those that have really struggled this year? Can we really be at peace with ourselves and turn a blind eye?
We are a small business but that will not stop us from making a small contribution of our time to a charity we think deserves it.
This year, as you noticed on our Mandela Day post, we decided that this charity would be Happy Yappers. An NPO in Magaliesberg that is in dire need of hands-on help and financial support.
It is a no kill shelter and have many adult dogs and puppies that come into their care that have been neglected and abused. A group that cannot defend or protect themselves from hurt and hunger.
Brilliant people at the shelter or hero’s as they should be known, such as Janet Diack, step in and do what needs to be done to be the voice and provide the love and care that these animals need. Well done to Janet and her team!
Elite Fire Protection completes its biggest project
9 000m2 at roof level for phase 1, and 5 000m2 at roof level for phase 2, this was by far our biggest project since opening 5 years ago. A nut processing factory found within Mpumalanga and the largest of its kind in the world. The entire project scope consisted of water supplies, smoke detection, ventilation, sprinkler installation, in-rack sprinkler protection, and multiple mezzanine fire protection.
We would like to thank our hardworking teams that ensured the successful completion:
- Project Manager: Adriaan Venter
- Site Supervisor: Gibsy Manyisa, and
- Our Fire Consultant, as well as our dedicated subcontractors
We are Expanding!
Elite Fire Protection is expanding, but not in the way you are probably thinking. We’ve have had a shift in the way we do business. Not too long ago, as a small business we had projects that one would consider small which cannot guarantee the survival of any business. We aimed for bigger projects and of course there was concern around whether we could pull it off or not, but with perseverance, I cannot tell you how proud I am of the team. The nut processing contract has shown what the company is capable of, and it has given us a renewed sense of faith. Not only have we started working on larger scale projects, but we have also received some medium projects which has allowed us the potential to grow more this year.
This does not mean that we are closing doors to small projects and maintenance. In fact, if you are looking for maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, pumps, fire extinguishers, or any other fire protection equipment on your property, your mall or warehouse, give us a call or email, and we will provide you with competitive pricing.
