Elite Fire News – Q2 2022

Welcome to our Quarter 2 blog post! We made it through nearly five months of 2022 and we hope that it has been a successful period for you. Since last August, we started paying more attention to the messages we want to put out there and we thank you for taking the time to read through our posts. In this issue we take a look at our social media activities, employee news, good governance and more.

We hope you enjoy reading up on the latest and pop us a message for compliments or comments.

Social Media Activities

During the first quarter of this year, we tried to keep you engaged by adding some new blog posts, educational material and to keep you informed of what we’re up to. For quarter 1 we published 10 posts on LinkedIn with value added material and will continue to do so throughout the year. For easy access, click here to read through some important material published recently.

Our first blog for 2022 was inspired by the increased number of fires where maintenance of fire equipment was poor. We highlighted the importance of maintaining fire equipment systems to reduce the damage caused by fires in the workplace.

Feel like you’re part of the Elite Fire family and stay up to date with what we’ve been up to with our published projects.

Governance at Elite Fire Protection

What started off as a “one man business” and now growing every year, we have come to realize that in order to remain ethical and compliant with good standards, it was important to re-look at the way we engage with each other, clients and suppliers.

We need to protect ourselves and our reputation, as well as others, as we all become soft targets of bribery and fraud. It has become more important to develop compliance standard operating procedures (SOP) both internally and externally and strictly follow all of our processes and controls.

We want you to know to give you peace of mind, that Elite Fire has now reached its 100% target of developed SOPs, which guides the way we work.

New Joiner

After advertising on LinkedIn during the first quarter, we successfully hired a new joiner to our team. At the end of March 2022, we welcomed Gibsy Manyisa as Site Supervisor. He joins us with over 10 years’ experience in the fire protection industry. He is a hardworking individual with passion for the industry and possess all the Elite Fire core values. We believe that he will make a great asset to our team with his commitment and drive.

Welcome Gibsy! We look forward to watching you grow!

Role Change

One of Elite Fire’s objectives is employee wellness. We aim to support our employees, help them grow, and identify their strengths to reach their full potential. Tevyn Matthysen has become more confident in her role as Executive Assistant and has been supporting the Managing Director, Brett Nieuwoudt, with more than what was required. She was promoted to Executive Projects Assistant as of 1 February 2022, and we believe this will not be the last change with her perseverance and commitment. Well done Tevyn and congratulations!

Social Responsibility

Elite Fire has become a beneficiary of the National Sterilization Project (NSP). The NPO’s aim is to reduce the growing number of unwanted and neglected pets through an ongoing and nationwide mass sterilization program. They do not receive any government funding and rely on the public. Should you wish to know more, please contact the NSP.
